Your model data never leaves your machine.
IQ Tools reads a Revit model into a cache on your own disk and works from there. No model geometry, parameter values, sheet data, file names or project names are ever transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Draft structure. The bracketed items are decisions and facts to be confirmed, and the finished text should be reviewed by counsel before publication. Effective date: [DATE]. Data controller: IQTools Ltd, New Zealand.
Model data
IQ Tools caches the contents of a Revit model in a local SQLite file on the machine where Revit runs, at [CACHE PATH]. That cache is read and written only by IQ Tools on that machine. It is not synchronised, backed up or uploaded by us. Deleting it loses nothing; it is rebuilt from the model on the next open.
Edits you approve in a Sync Review are written into the Revit model by Revit itself, as ordinary model data. IQ Tools keeps no copy elsewhere.
Licence checks
To confirm a seat is valid, IQ Tools periodically sends to [LICENCE SERVICE HOST]: the licence identifier, a machine identifier, the IQ Tools version, the Revit version and the Windows version. The machine identifier is a hashed, non-reversible value derived from your Windows installation, motherboard, system disk and Windows account; the raw values never leave the machine, and only the hashes are sent — we never receive your Windows user name or any literal identifier from your machine. Those hashes still identify a machine, so we treat them as personal information covered by Your rights below; we do not claim they are anonymous. Nothing about any model is included. Checks tolerate 14 days offline. We keep licence-check records for 12 months, after which they are aggregated so no individual record remains. These records may be processed and stored outside New Zealand.
Crash reports & telemetry
Both are opt-in. By default IQ Tools sends nothing. If you turn crash reporting on, a report contains the stack trace, the IQ Tools, Revit and operating-system versions, and the time of the crash; it never contains model data, file names or project names. If you turn usage telemetry on, it contains counts of which features were used and how often; it never contains model data. Either can be turned off again at any time at [SETTINGS LOCATION]. Reports are kept for 12 months and then deleted.
Logs written to [LOG PATH] stay on your machine. They contain element IDs, parameter names and timings, not geometry or values, and are sent to us only if you attach them to a support request.
Account & payment
When you buy a seat we hold your name, email address, company and the licence records for the seats you own. Payment is processed by [MERCHANT OF RECORD, e.g. Paddle], who act as the seller and handle card details and applicable taxes under their own privacy policy: [LINK]. We never see your card number.

We will keep information we are required to keep by law, or that we need to resolve an open payment dispute, and we will tell you if that applies to your request.
